Hisense Sero 5 Review

Hisense has made a name for itself in technology and electronics. Today, we are going to review the Hisense Sero 5 mobile phone and let you know what you can expect from the Hisense Sero 5.

Hisense Sero 5 Package

Inside the box you will find a microUSB-USB cable, a power supply 1A, a pair of headphones (aesthetically identical to the “old” by Apple) and even a film to be applied to the screen.

Hisense Sero 5 Construction and Ergonomics

The smartphone has a front line quite interesting with two black bands at the ends opaque court, while the back is enclosed in a plastic cover is not particularly interesting or innovative in terms of design. Even the touch does not return a feeling of particularly high quality. Remains, unfortunately, a phone in the media from the point of view of construction and ergonomics.

Hisense Sero 5 Hardware

The processor is a Snapdragon 400 quad core 1.2 GHz, as moltisismi others have seen around. Actually Sero 5 is already on the market for several months and perhaps for this, in the review it now, we would have preferred to find inside one Snapdragon 410. We then 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory which can be expanded via microSD. After you insert an expansion card, we will be asked if we want to make it the default for installing applications. Definitely a plus is the presence of LTE 4G connectivity up to 150 Mbps, while Wi-Fi is a single band. Also present was the Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC chip.
The speaker is on the back and ensures a volume and quality average.

Hisense Sero 5 Camera

The camera is 8 megapixels and has an LED flash (single) immediately below. The photo quality is decent, certainly in the media in the same price range. The photos are shot in 16: 9 and you can not change this relationship. The application is a newly modified version of the Android stock, poor options and not very practical to use. Better to choose a replacement app. Video is recorded at 1080p and the front camera is 2 megapixels.

Hisense Sero 5 Display

The 5-inch screen is IPS technology and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. What is most surprising is the goodness of the images you can play with colors faithful and very high brightness. A problem of “laziness” of the display has been fixed with the latest update. Discrete viewing angles although the colors tend to vary rapidly tilting the smartphone.

Hisense Sero 5 Software

The smartphone is sold with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board and only the most enterprising find that the site is available on the package to flash Android 4.4 KitKat on the phone (attention will lose all data and apps!). The innovations introduced with this update are almost nonexistent, but increase the compatibility of your phone with all those applications that require KitKat to work.

The system is all in all slender, without any particular modification by Hisense, if not in some detail of the launcher. Not many additional applications, but these are among WPS (former Kingsoft Office), a firewall to block unwanted calls, a torch, a software for DLNA and a file manager. The default keyboard is the TouchPal X, already pre-installed when you first turn. Convenient, for the less experienced, the presence of the manual pre-installed inside the smartphone.

HiSense Sero 5 Specs

Hisense Sero 5 Browser

The browser is definitely one of the best software components made by Hisense. It has proven fluid on many occasions, even though (thankfully not often) showed some uncertainty with sites heavier, as you can see in the video.

Hisense Sero 5 Multimedia

The multimedia sector is not particularly brilliant in this Hisense, but nevertheless plays his duty. The audio player is to stock Android (ugly and with few functions), while the video player is nothing but a selection of videos from the gallery. The videos up to 1080p are still played well and is very fast flowing within them. There is also the FM radio.

Hisense Sero 5 Price

Hisense Sero 5 was sold late last year at a price of 199 €. Price interesting though certainly less palatable to today.

Hisense Sero 5 Purchase

In recent months, the smartphone you are not particularly devalued and even its price is still similar. € 193 is the offer of Snapfish.

Hisense Sero 5 Judgement

Hisense Sero 5 is a good product, and does not have major defects in its price range is definitely a product that we would feel to recommend (especially since upgrading to KitKat). Unfortunately, like other similar products, fails to stand out from the “crowd” low-cost smartphone at the same speed.
